Academy

Where there is ability we want to get the best out of it; where there is talent we want to harness it and where there is desire we want to reward it with opportunity.

Our determination to give young players of genuine potential the chance to make it in one of the toughest and most competitive sports is such that we aim to provide every single youngster who joins the Goal Australia Football Academy with the best of everything - the best coaching, the best facilities and the best possible guidance.

The Academy expects everyone who works, trains and plays here is to perform to their highest possible standards.

Our ongoing challenge is to provide the ideal environment for talent to flourish and it is one which we endeavor to meet on a daily basis.

At the Goal Australia Football Academy we believe that team tactics, formations and systems are important but they do not compensate for poor first touch and lack of mastery of the ball, inaccurate passing or other technical weaknesses. Team organization is only part of the big picture and teams are only as effective as the individual players in them.

Our training program revolves round the very best segments of four different methods from various parts of the world. Our Coaching Director has worked with all of these and has put together a curriculum that encompasses all that is best in all four philosophies.

We believe that the game consists of passages of play that happen between 2 or 3 and sometimes 4 players, these sequences of play can happen all over the field and that ultimate Team Success is determined by the players whose perform these exchanges and do not lose possession of the ball for their team. We therefore believe in teaching ball mastery skills and playing a lot of small sided games to promote an understanding between players and give them the necessary skills to keep the ball under pressure in tight situations.

Consequently the Goal Australia Football Academy focuses on improving individual and small group play in these sequences especially in the formative years.

The Goal Australia Football Academy’s aim is to provide a comprehensive football education to young players who are looking to develop the skills and knowledge that are necessary in today’s game to elevate them selves to the next level.
